When the Sun Meets the Earth- stretched canvas print
This was created in Northern Portugal with guidance of a visionary art retreat and guided by San Pedro.
with Auga Bell and her partner Diogo, we learned to paint with watercolor and the mischtecnique in acrylic.
I planted a seed. A prayer. A wish. A hope for what my life can look like.
If I can have anything in the world what would it be?
A new life.
Prayers of hope and enlightenment.
If there was no limitations in this world.. what would my perfect world look like?
Dreams and wishes for love to overshadow hate.
This seed is deeply rooted inside of me, letting Mother Earth nurture and fertilize this seed. The roots spread all in my being finding a way out to sprout.
Growth.
Perseverance.
Love.
Sprouted.
“When the Sun Meets the Earth” is a snapshot of this moment that happens once a day of the sun sets.
Although the seed needs the sun to grow, the seed doesn’t feel like the sun is more important than it. It shows compassion for the sun for taking care of it for this long. Telling the sun, “it’s okay, you don’t need to be strong for everyone all the time, you are safe with me. Let me hold you for a moment before the moon takes the night shift.”
The sun is represented by the masculine. Although it’s a self portrait I chose to resemble my masculine slide. Allowing the Earth (mother, feminine) to hold the Sun during this vulnerable time that happens once a day.
The suns needed the seed to grow as well.
