What Happens When Intuition Leads the Creative Process?

Inspired by a multicultural upbringing, my art reflects the layers of my past and present, blending abstract forms with recognizable symbols that resonate on conscious and subconscious levels. Creating with a fusion of diverse mix medias and also painting I create visual narratives that explore themes of growth, healing, identity, integration and memory. My artistic process is deeply intuitive, involving spontaneous mark-making and layering of textures to build depth and complexity. As my work evolves, I embrace elements of chance and experimentation, allowing unexpected juxtapositions and connections to emerge organically. Each piece aims to inspire introspection and connection, addressing mental blockages and adversity, and inviting viewers to delve into their own emotions and experiences.

A Collaboration with Source

Kyra Joy

I have always been an artist, since I was a child I would draw on the walls at home, draw on my desk in school, even sketch in my notebook when I was supposed to be taking notes in class. I've always known that this form of expression was my outlet. My senior year of high school was a pivotal moment in my artist career realizing creating art is what I wanted to do in my life.

The pandemic was during my first year of university. I was living in Cambridge, Massachusetts going to Lesely University. Half way through the second semester, the world shut down.

This worldwide shut down allowed me to evaluate my values and change my decisions I made to what was best for me.

When I was 21 I connected with plant medicines and have seen a huge effect on my creativity, production and mental stability.

When I was 22, I backpacked the Camino de Santiago (500 km in 31 days) alone. A deep journey of healing and consistently moving forward.

I Discovered Amanda Sage at 23, taking her "Painting with Light" workshop at CoSM and the world of Visionary Art. At this time I was living in NYC taking advantage of what it has to offer. I was going to SO MANY opportunities in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Jersey City.

Since then, I had the privilege to study under world renowned visionary artists: Amanda Sage, Alex Grey, Allyson Grey, Luis Tamani, Laurance Caruana, Florence Ménard - Cuepaliztli, Stefan Lucas Allen, and Agua Bel
